Gifts of the Holy Spirit:

What did Paul say; Unknown Languages - Tongues ?

Paul says;1 Corinthians 12:13 (KJV) “ For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. ”

Paul says;1 Corinthians 14:2 (KJV) “ For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

Paul says; 1 Corinthians 14:4 (KJV) ” He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

Paul says, 1 Corinthians 14:14 (KJV) “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.”

Paul says; 1 Corinthians 14:19 (KJV) ” Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.”

Paul says;1 Corinthians 14:20 (KJV) ” Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.”

Paul says; 1 Corinthians 14:28 (KJV) ” But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.”

Those who speak in tongues should follow the guidelines; those who do not speak in tongues ought not seek the gift as a sign of salvation or of special closeness with God, for it is neither. It is a gift of God, given only to whomever God chooses. If a person has not experienced the gift of tongues, he or she ought not seek it but seek what gifts God has given.

When we become a Christian, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in us, and we are born into God's family. "We all share the same Spirit" means that each of us has received the same Holy Spirit. As members of God's family, we may have different interests and gifts, but we are united by the Spirit into one spiritual body.Life Application Study Bible.

Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
