By All the Means You Can,
In All the Ways You Can,
In All the Places You Can,
At All the Times You Can,

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.

I remember saying this prayer every morning in school.
Today, does everyone know the Lords Prayer ?
Matthew 6:9-13
Of course some newer bible versions of The Lord Prayer
use debts and debtors instead of trespasses.
Matt. 6:14 KJV
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father
will also forgive you.

Christians should be Christians

A church building is sometimes called God's house.

In reality, God's household is not a building
but a group of people, a family of believers.

He lives in us and shows Himself to a watching
world through us.

People can see that God is love and that Christ
is Lord as we live in harmony with each other
and in accordance with what God says in His Word.

We are citizens of God's Kingdom and members
of His household.

The Christian church should have no barriers of
nationality, race, educational level, social standing,
wealth, gender, religion, or power.

Christ breaks down all barriers and accepts all people
who come to Him.

Nothing should keep us from telling others about Christ
or accepting into our fellowship any and all believers.

PTL Daily Devotional;

“Taking Time to Pray While
Pushing Through Distractions”

My thoughts for Today’s Devotional:
I usually get up early in the morning to spend time with
God because it is a quiet time.  Most important is that I
am putting my Lord first. Many times a distraction will
try to get in the way of my time with God. Have you also
found the following excerpt from today’s devotional to
be so very true ?

Day 125: excerpt;
“The most important elements of study and prayer
time are found in good old fashioned self-discipline
and the earnest desire to seek the Lord. To be
successful, we simply have to concentrate and
remain committed. One thing I've found as my most
meaningful time with God has been when I have
fought through all the distractions and continued
(or returned) to focus my heart and my mind --
completing my study and prayer time -- that is when
God speaks to me most clearly, or rather when I am
listening most intently”.

Questions to Ponder:
How can we start to listen more intently to the Lord?
Is it an issue of focusing our heart and mind?
Will you be more determined to fellowship with Him ?

A Pocket of Devotional Time with God's Word

"Choices Past & Future"

God gave us many examples in the Old Testament
of what results from good and bad choices.

Jesus gave us many Parables in the New Testament
of the results from right and wrong choices.

The results of our past choices certainly confirms
all the truths that the Bible has been teaching.

Our next choice will we first take a moment to look
for His footsteps ?

Could we focus more clearly on our choice by just
asking; "What would Jesus Do ? "

1 Peter 2:21 (KJV)
21 For even hereunto were ye called:
because Christ also suffered for us,
leaving us an example,
that ye should follow his steps:

A Pocket of Devotional Time with God's Word

Oh, those words how often I have thought them;
"This is not the way I expected my life to be."
Yet, it was my choices that lead me there.
Now, I look for His footsteps to follow for He
has the right plan for me.

Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
saith the Lord,
thoughts of peace,
and not of evil,
to give you an expected end.

A Pocket of Devotional Time with God's Word;

Today was a day that I needed encouragement and this
is why I subscribe to The Pocket Testament League
daily devotionals.

I was feeling discouraged that what I have been doing
is so insignificant and I do not seem to be doing anything
important.

It is so important to start your day in His Word; to find
that encouragement with prayer, devotionals such as
Daily Bread and The Pocket Testament League Daily
Devotionals.

If you seek Him, then He will speak to you, and Today's
"Pocket Devotions, day 118" was what I needed today.

"Just one godly person serving other people, one at a time
in what some people might consider an insignificant position.

The point is that what you are doing may not seem all that
important or significant, but the value can be immeasurable."

Have you looked at Jesus' example lately?
He did not come to be served but to serve.
If you want your life to be significant you must first strive for
what might seem to be insignificant and humble service.

How AWESOME to watch God work!

A sponsored member has posted a story
to The Pocket Testament League web site!
Member Gina A. from Wright City, MO,
posted a story on 05/11/2012.

On April 25th I went to the Planned Parenthood in St Louis.
I stand at the gate of their fenced parking lot to try to give
their clients literature on other places to go for their women's
healthcare and Christ centered help to carry their child to term.
Most of my fear is gone knowing that I am there in the name
of Jesus to direct them to Him. These girls are looking for love.
Thank you for helping me to lead them to true love.
In a 2 hour period I gave out 20 Gospels of John with this literature.
I will be going again on May 23 and 24.
How AWESOME to watch God work!

How "The Pocket Testament League" is supported.

The Pocket Testament League is not a Charity Organization.
The Pocket Testament League is a non-profit organization.
The Pocket Testament League Gospels are not for purchase
and are not to be sold. The League prints and ships Gospels
to the members of the Pocket Testament League to be given
as a free gift to non- members.

Similar to the “Gideon” The League serves as an extended missionary
arm of the church as a outreach for lost souls. The Hosting Church
bennifits several ways; the placing of church information labels in
the Gospels is informative to people needing a home church and
this grows the Hosting Church's congregation.  Another benefit is
that members of the Hosting Church are provided with the tools to
personally make a difference and be part of the Masters Work.

Everyone can participate as a “Seed Sower” or a “Seed Provider”
The Pocket Testament League supplies Gospels to all members.
Those members able to make a small donation of  Twenty dollars,
that will cover the cost of printing, handling and shipping of thirty
Gospels of their choice to them is appreciated. The members that
are not currently able to afford a donation may just request to be
sponsored. The members that would rather be a “Seed Provider”
are joyfully Sponsoring those “Seed Sowers’ needing Sponsors.

The Pocket Testament League is a non-denominational ministry
that began in 1893.  The Headquarters is in Lititz, Pennsylvania.
The League is managed by a 15-person Board of Trustees. The
League is a faith-based ministry focused on helping to see God's
Word shared, and to encourage Christians to Read, Carry and Share
the Word of God. Those who are serious about living their faith join
to study Scripture, share Gospels and be equipped for a life style of
evangelism. Those who want to sponsor others enjoy their role in
empowering people to share their faith. Our hearts' desire is to
empower every Christian, regardless of financial circumstances, to
share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with no barrier in the way. Our
ability to provide Gospels is made possible by gifts from individuals,
churches, businesses, mission boards, foundations, and estates.
There is no obligation to give to receive sharing resources.

The Pocket Testament League adheres to the following statement of faith:

  • The inspiration and authority of the whole Bible (Old and New Testaments) as the full revelation of God by the Holy Spirit.
  • The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His substitutionary atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, and His personal return.
  • The necessity of the new birth for entering the Kingdom of God (as described in John 3)
  • The obligation upon all believers to be witnesses of the Lord Jesus Christ and to seek the salvation of others.

For a more detailed version of our statement of faith, we can't think of a better place to go than the Gospel of John.

A Pocket of Devotional Time with God's Word;

Acts 9:16;(KJV)
The Lord said unto him,
"For I will shew him how great things
he must suffer for my name's sake."
(Yet Paul began his ministry and served the Lord
Regardless and with full knowledge of the
consequences of that service.)
Questions to Ponder:
Will you back down in the face of adversity,
If your doing what God told you to do ?
How is the Lord speaking to you in
Paul's example of courage and trust?
Answers to Ponder:
Romans 8:18 (KJV)
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time
are not worthy to be compared with the glory which
shall be revealed in us.
Romans 8:28 (KJV)
And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God, to them who are the called
according to his purpose.
(All our afflictions and trials to which we are exposed,
are among the means that are appointed for our welfare.)
